YOUR ADVENTURE ITINERARY

YOUR ADVENTURE ITINERARY

Across Raglan Harbour to Native Bush Campsite

Adventures are currently available from early November until late April and are tide-dependent. Check the latest availability online or inquire about times outside those listed via our contact form.

WATER TAXI

Our adventure starts with a private water taxi trip across Raglan Harbour, departing from the jetty next to the famous Raglan Footbridge and disembarking at Te Akau Wharf on the north side of the estuary.

WALK TO CAMPSITE

After reaching land, we will do a short 1.5km hike through native bush and along the beach to our magic, privately-owned site. Our campsite for the night is just a two-minute walk away from the water’s edge.

KAYAK TOUR

Once camp has been made, you can enjoy a guided kayak tour to the limestone rocks on the high tide and explore neighbouring Ponganui Creek to a small waterfall.

OVERNIGHT CAMP

This will be an unforgettable overnight experience, where you can cook over an open fire and listen to the songs of the native birds around you. Kayak and explore at your leisure, or relax and re-connect with nature.

THE ADVENTURE COST IS $199 PER PERSON

The minimum age for the adventure is 12, and under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. Please note that you can use your own camping gear or hire through us.

A minimum of two people are required per tour and 72 hours’ booking notice is required to secure our water taxi booking.

Yes, you are welcome to explore!

No. If the tide is low or mid, the water is too far away from where the kayaks are stored. It would be a 500m – 1km pull in the mud!

Yes, most nights, we light a fire, provided that it’s not raining.

Yes, you can. Tents, sleeping mats, gas burners, gas bottles, head torches, etc. are available. Please note that these run out fast, so please prebook.

Yes, we do, but only if it is not too windy (very windy weather makes for unsafe and unenjoyable kayaking). We will take you on a guided tour over to the limestone rocks directly across from us and explore Ponganui Creek to the small waterfall. The creek is great fun to explore, and you’ll be amazed at where it leads.

This depends on the water taxi owner and if they have other bookings. We aim, if possible, to arrive at the campsite a couple of hours before high tide for use of the kayaks at high tide and try to work times around this aspect. Please note that a minimum of 72 hours is required to make a booking.

Yes. Please enquire regarding additional charges.
